Here is some information about Josh Bentley, the owner of LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic Port Coqutilam. This will be Josh’s second LIVE WELL location as he opened our bustling Langley clinic over a year ago:
I decided to join LIVE WELL the I first time saw one of the achievement “bubbles” on the wall inside a LIVE WELL clinic. Reading the bubbles displayed all over the clinic made a big emotional impact on me. Each session, LIVE WELL members are asked to share their personal ‘wins’ in relation to their health and fitness goals. Some of these were simply, “I made it to the clinic today,” which was a victory in itself for that person. Others were, “I walked 2000 steps today,” or “I was able to carry my groceries into the house.” I was transfixed as I read the messages on these bubbles and knew in that moment LIVE WELL was right for me.
We are excited to open up our second second LIVE WEL location in Port Coquitlam. We opened up our first clinic in Langley on March 1, 2017 and have just completed a very exciting first year. The opportunity has been life-changing, as every day we see lives improving in such an incredible way inside our clinic walls. Over 300 members have achieved positive improvements to with their health and some incredible ‘wins,’ including dramatically-improved blood pressure and resting heart rates, diabetic members coming off insulin and experiencing decreases in A1C, weight loss, and endless other health improvements. Most importantly, our members have improved their overall quality of life.
My first LIVE WELL location in Langley has been an incredible success. We opened up the doors to record members and have continued to grow every month we have been open. There have been over 100 doctors who refer to LIVE WELL with over 10 doctors who have been members. We continue to make ourselves known to the citizens of Langley and are excited to see LIVE WELL becoming an integral part of the Langley health community. That success has inspired us to open another location to help people in Port Coquitlam get healthy and improve their lifestyle. We are incredibly excited to offer the LIVE WELL experience to the community of Port Coquitlam. As a family, we love the outdoors and have enjoyed the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities in the Port Coquitlam area, particularly the amazing hiking! It is a beautiful region with a great sense of community of which we know LIVE WELL will complement and enhance it. Community is very important to us our company and a huge part of our member culture within the clinic.
I LIVE WELL by being active every day. I love to trail run with my wife, kids, and dog. I am a soccer coach to both of my kids which has me out playing with them 5-6 days per week. I spend part of every day playing sports with my kids, including basketball, soccer, and baseball. We love to hike and take advantage of our amazing BC backyard, always searching for another waterfall or lake to explore. In the summer we wake surf, paddle board, waterski, and swim regularly. Living well is a way of life and choice me and my family make not only because we love to be active but also to keep healthy and enjoy the best that life has to offer us!
I am a big kid at heart! At least that is what my wife often tells me! Given the chance I will sing opera to my children while making breakfast, be the first one to go head-first on the toboggan racing down the hill, or encourage my kids to jump off a cliff into the lake, all as my wife cringes. Do a dance, no problem. Just don’t expect it to be pretty or graceful and it may involve a leg kick just for effect. My approach to life is to laugh often and have others, especially my kids, laugh with me. They make me laugh and I am simply trying to keep up with them.
The clinic is currently under construction and will open this July at 2325 Ottawa St., Port Coquitlam, British Columbia V3B 8A4.
