During menopause, exercise can be particularly beneficial in helping women maintain muscle mass, bone mass, a healthy weight, and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. Of course, exercise can also help prevent cognitive decline, maintain our balance, and preserve our quality of life as we age. Unfortunately, many menopausal women are not exercising regularly and therefore not taking advantage of the many health benefits of exercise. It’s never too late to start exercising.
