What is the SPARKS METHOD™ ?

LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is a health and fitness clinic that works with people who want to take control of their health so that they can live their life to the fullest. We created something unique to our clinic and members called the SPARKS METHOD™. The SPARKS METHOD™ is a step-by-step method that uses five empowering Sparks to help you develop lifelong healthy habits that won’t fizzle out.

Think of our health and fitness journey like a fire – a fire is lit, and it burns bright at the beginning, and then naturally it begins to dwindle. In order to get this fire back up and keep it strong, it needs a spark! There are many great health and fitness programs out there, but no matter how good a fitness program is, it is hard for us to maintain our commitment to these programs. It is human nature that ultimately our commitment begins to fizzle out. We call this the “fizzle factor.” It can be frustrating when we invest resources and commit to a program, and then it ultimately doesn’t work because we can’t stay motivated. Our five Sparks will help you maintain consistently healthy habits to last a lifetime.

There are three reasons why we typically lose our commitment and experience the fizzle factor. First, we can get bored of doing the same routine over and over. Second, it can start to become difficult for us to maintain our habits. Third, we can get distracted by something else that comes along and makes us lose our focus.

The SPARKS METHOD™ effectively addresses and combats each of these three reasons for losing our commitment. When we get bored, the Sparks re-establish our excitement. When it starts to get difficult, the Sparks make it feel easier again. When we become distracted, the Sparks help us regain our focus!

What is the SPARKS METHOD™?

The SPARKS METHOD™ consists of five Sparks: Build, Fuel, Ignite, Tend and Stoke. Each of these five Sparks plays a vital role in helping you develop and maintain healthy habits.

Build - The first stage involves making and reaffirming a pledge to yourself that commits you to a healthy life.

Fuel - At the second stage, you will contemplate what a healthy life looks like to you. You will then create a healthy life vision which gives you a sense of purpose and direction.

Ignite - The third stage entails regularly choosing three healthy habits to focus on over the next 90 days.

Tend - The fourth stage, you will set weekly practices to build toward each of the three healthy habits that you have chosen.

Stoke - In the final stage, each week you will revisit, reflect and revise your healthy habits and your commitment to them.
